ABOUT US

Our primary goal is to enhance access to dental care through advocacy, research, and education. By collaborating with our partners, we aim to improve the delivery of oral health services and establish health systems that provide quality dental care. Our comprehensive approach involves building partnerships and leveraging community structures to amplify the importance of dental care among our target population.

HOW WE WORK

We collaborate with community-based organizations to build evidence for oral health advocacy and program planning. Additionally, we are actively involved in providing direct dental services to vulnerable populations.

HISTORY

The Oral Health Program was initiated with a specific focus on empowering vulnerable immigrant populations in Iowa. Our efforts have included providing dental services and screenings in underserved communities. Additionally, we developed a comprehensive manual to train community volunteers on oral health, which has proven invaluable in our outreach efforts. Generous funding from Delta Dental has enabled us to launch a project aimed at broadening access to dental care for immigrants and underserved populations in Iowa and Missouri. We strategically leverage community peer educators to educate and sensitize the immigrant population and underserved groups, enhancing their self-efficacy in oral health preventive measures. Our organization's overarching mission in oral health programs is rooted in the commitment to enhancing access to dental care. We strive to achieve this by forming partnerships with community-based organizations and implementing a holistic approach encompassing service delivery, education, research, communication, and advocacy. Our ultimate vision is to ensure that individuals in under-resourced communities have uninterrupted access to high-quality dental services whenever needed. This historical perspective underscores our dedication to addressing oral health disparities and improving the well-being of marginalized populations.

POLICY

We work within the policy space and try to influence policy that will enhance the delivery of dental services ,so that we can create policy framework and funding to enhance the delivery of dental services.
